Day 1

Airport → Anuradhapura

Welcomed by your Manthra Travel representative at Bandaranaike International Airport and transferred to Anuradhapura. Afternoon reserved for rest and relaxation after your journey.

Wilpattu Safari & Ancient Anuradhapura

Morning safari in Wilpattu National Park — spot leopards, elephants, bears, wild buffalos and endemic jungle fowl around the park’s many lakes. Afternoon at the ancient city of Anuradhapura (4th century BC), including offerings at the world’s oldest tree, the sacred Bo tree.

Sigiriya Rock & Minneriya Safari

Climb the legendary 360m Lion Rock fortress — an ancient world wonder with palace ruins at its summit. Afternoon safari at Minneriya National Park, where up to 300 elephants gather at the reservoir in one of nature’s great spectacles.

Ancient Polonnaruwa & Ayurveda

Explore the UNESCO World Heritage city of Polonnaruwa (10th–13th century) — giant Buddha statues and the elegant monuments of King Parakrama. Optional romantic Ayurvedic couple’s massage using 2,000-year-old medicinal plant oil techniques.

Hot Air Balloon & Golden Temple of Dambulla

Optional sunrise hot air balloon over the Dambulla plains — views of Sigiriya Rock, Kandalama Lake and rice fields from above. Then visit the Golden Temple (1st century BC) with 153 Buddha statues in its sacred cave. Stop at a spice garden to discover vanilla, cocoa, cardamom and pepper.

Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage & Peradeniya Gardens

Early visit to the world’s largest captive elephant reserve — watch dozens of orphaned elephants walk through the village and bathe in the river. Afternoon at the lush Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, a royal green paradise of ancient trees, orchids and Ayurvedic plants.

Kitulgala Rafting & Nuwara Eliya

Thrilling 7km white-water rafting through 8 rapids in Kitulgala’s tropical jungle — the very location where the 1957 classic “Bridge on the River Kwai” was filmed. Continue to Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka’s charming colonial hill town, to stroll Lake Gregory and browse local market stalls.

Scenic Train to Ella & Little Adam's Peak

A romantic train journey through tea-covered mountains on the historic Ceylon railway (operating since 1864), winding over three hours from Nuwara Eliya to Ella. On arrival, hike Little Adam’s Peak through the tea fields for sweeping mountain views.

Ella Gap & Buduruwagala Temple

A spectacular 3–4 hour trek to Ella Gap or Ella Rock for panoramic views of the mountain range. Afternoon at Buduruwagala, a remarkable 10th-century Buddhist rock temple with seven figures carved directly into the cliff face.

Koggala Lake Safari & Galle Fort

Peaceful boat safari through the mangroves of Koggala Lake, visiting a Buddhist island temple and learning about cinnamon harvesting on “Cinnamon Island.” Then explore the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort — the most beautiful walled seaside city in Sri Lanka, ideal for a romantic stroll.

Three blissful days of pure beach relaxation — pristine sandy shores, crystal-clear waters and romantic sunsets. Indulge in spa treatments, water activities, or simply unwind together after a week of adventure and culture.

Hikkaduwa Beach — Free Day

A fully free day to enjoy the beach at your own pace. Snorkel the coral reef, try a sunset surf lesson, indulge in a beachside Ayurvedic massage, or simply relax by the ocean together.

Hikkaduwa Beach — Final Beach Day

Last full beach day to savour the calm of the Indian Ocean. Enjoy a final romantic dinner by the sea as the sun dips below the horizon before your farewell the next morning.

Colombo City Tour & Airport Departure

Enjoy the hotel until noon then explore Colombo en route — the historic Dutch Hospital (1681), Pettah Market and the Galle Face promenade where locals fly kites by the sea. Transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport — arrive 3 hours before departure.

  • Transfer to Negombo or Kandy, depending on preference.

  • Relax and enjoy your first evening in Sri Lanka with a welcome dinner.

  • Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
